Rising Online Risks
The new mission comes amid increasing worry about the nation's susceptibility to digital service failures and online threats.
Recent incidents have highlighted these risks, including a widespread failure affecting worldwide digital services and fresh digital assaults that affected operations at key facilities and logistics systems across several organizations.
Management and Supervision
A previous senior officer of the the nation's space operations center will deliver recommendations next month on how the publicly-supported center can most effectively assist the scale of government AI ambitions in defense, homeland protection and information gathering.
Operational Restructuring
The institute's chair, a ex-Amazon UK executive, confirmed that 78 different research projects at the 440-staff institute have been closed, transferred out or finished because they do not align with the fresh focus.
