Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA recently having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, per reports.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable TV Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his television work, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.

Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
