Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, however can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.
In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this game will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's sole on the road victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four matches.
A family member advised me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.
However I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's home form, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
