Supporters Demand Detainment of Individual Who Seized Ariana Grande

Devoted supporters of the actress are demanding that a individual who leaped a barricade and seized the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or removed from Singapore.

A circulating video shows the Australian man shoving aside camera operators and charging at Grande while the actors walked down a promenade flanked by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being detained", though court documents indicated that he was due to attend court on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was charged.

History of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile features clips of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney performance in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last year.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is clearly a punishable act," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Fans Show Disapproval Over Grande's Well-being

Several supporters accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her May 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented a further response on Instagram.

A number of attendees also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while others requested online networks to remove Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande appeared startled when she was touched by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Many of supporters had gathered in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore venue, including several who had queued for as long as many hours before it started.

The movie, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the sequel of a two-part interpretation of the well-known stage show Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely bond between two contrasting characters.

The production itself is a derivative of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning film of 2024 in the UK, and received ten award recognitions, earning a pair for outstanding attire and set decoration.
