Trio Named as Finalists for Young Sports Personality Prize

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
The three finalists have been honoured for their outstanding achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The finalists were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.
The show will be televised from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
Perrin's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
