Former President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He added that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a shooting on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Community members gathered over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of the president’s national effort to support law enforcement in the capital.

“She was the type of pupil that educators desired. She behaved with calm resilience, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the principal of her alma mater, informed the Associated Press. “She was sweet, caring and always eager to help others.”

Officials have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of violent assault while armed.

The event led the Trump administration to pause asylum applications and halt issuing visas to owners of travel documents.

Condition of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader Morrisey stated on a news program.
